I have had weight loss surgery. One of the “side effects” is dry mouth… you don’t eat as much, so you don’t produce as much saliva. Your mouth and throat are constantly dry. It’s recommended to always carry something to drink with you.

Well, I hate regular water, and I dislike most drinks warm. You can’t drink soda’s anymore, which is the only drink I’ll tolerate warm, so I was in quite a pickle. A friend recommended Mio water flavorings to me, and I was hooked! They make regular water taste good, and as some varieties have caffeine, I never suffered any caffeine withdrawals, either.

In my hunt for the perfect bottle, I came across Simple Modern. I fell in love. These bottles keep my drinks cold for over 24 hours, even if I leave it in a hot car. They’re easy to carry, fit in my car’s cup holders, and can take a beating. Trust me… I’ve dropped them so many times lol.

With one of the extended cleaning tools sold everywhere specifically for reusable water bottles, it’s easy to keep clean. I’ve found that once a month, I have to run my fingernail under the silicone ring in the lid to remove extra Mio flavoring that gets under there, but otherwise, the ring and lid stay tight and clean.

I generally have one bottle I’m using, plus one or two replacement bottles on hand for when I dent up my current bottle too much. I love them so much, I bought every one of my family and friends each one for Christmas two years ago, just so they all had a fantastic water bottle as well.

I started with the 17oz bottle, but quickly realized I drank too much during the day and hated refilling it constantly, so I switched to the 24oz bottle. I know there are plenty of other brands out there to try, but me? I’m a Simple Modern girl. 🙂
